Serving The Community
Lindy Brown, Former Wake County Commissioner has served Wake County for over 31 years, working tirelessly to make it a better place to live, work and play. She is a retired Clinical Social Worker, who started her professional career in Mental Health at Dorothea Dix Hospital then Wake County Human Services and retired in 2013 as a Supervisor at Murdock Adult Mental Health Facility in Butner. She served as a Wake County Commissioner from 2006 – 2010.
Strong Leadership in Action
During Ms. Brown’s tenure as Vice Chair/Acting Chair, many citizens called her “The People’s County Commissioner.” She strongly advocated and lead the board to increase Library hours of operation and to build the first high school in the Town of Rolesville as well as championing for a new Sheriff Training Center and got the Town of Garner their 4th Fire Station on Spaceway Court and promoted “Workforce Housing” to all twelve municipals.
